OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL. MONDAY 9 DECEMBER 2013
THEME : MOVE ON TO MULTIPLICATION.
MEMORISE : And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Genesis 1 : 28.
READ : GENESIS 1 : 27 – 28.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: JOB 8 – 10.
Another attribute of a divine midwife is that he or she must be able to earn a reward from God. God rewarded the midwives of Exodus 1 and He is looking for those who can work hard to earn His commendation.
“Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.”
2 John 8
His commendation does not come cheap: it must be earned. The way you are working for Him, can you earn His ‘Well done?’
If you consider His dealings with people in Bible times, you will notice that God loves fruitful people. He loves progressive increases but prefers multiplications. When the servants who received five and two talents returned to their master, with a double of what they received, they got the same level of commendation (Matthew 25 : 14 – 23). God loves multiplication! In Genesis 1 : 27 – 28, immediately after creating Adam and Eve, He commanded them to be fruitful, multiply and replenish the earth. These are stages in growth. God wants you to start by bearing fruit, and then move to the stage of multiplication of the fruits so that you can eventually dominate the earth. Many of us stop at bearing fruit which should be our starting point. It is time you moved up to the stage of multiplication. If you were winning a soul to Christ per month, now win 10 souls or more to Christ per month, but do not stop there. Lead them to the believers class to disciple them. Follow them up and ensure that they are doing what you have done. In other words, reproduce yourself in them so that they too can do the same. As this chain continues, a time will come when your spiritual children will be in different parts of the world, taking the world for Jesus. Thank God for the past years of winning minimal souls. Increase your efforts and become a mentor to your converts, and they to their converts down the line. If we can take this up and be committed to 10 souls monthly for a year and mentor them to the point of each getting their 10 souls, in less than five years, we would have reached out to the world. Arise and start your chain of converts today!
ACTION POINT :
A convert you win today can lead 100 souls to Christ. Go for your 10 souls this period.
Physician heal thyself: Pastor Chris Okotie’s Bombs Catholics, says they will go to Hell
The music star-turned preacher has a word for over 1.3 billion catholics globally from his church pulpit yesterday Sunday service.
“All Catholics in the world will go to hell because they worship Satan and are led by an Anti-Christ Pope who is a friend to the devil”, Nigeria’s controversial preacher and former presidential candidate, Chris Okotie, told his congregation on Sunday, leaving members bewildered.
“They don’t believe in heaven. They believe in purgatory, the purgatory that they invented,”
Fifty-five year old Okotie, while preaching in his Household of God Church in Ikeja area of Lagos on Sunday, said the Catholic church is “a counterfeit church set up by Satan” and that Catholics “bow to idols and crucify Jesus every Sunday when they eat bread claiming they are eating Jesus’ body.”
Pastor Okotie stressed: “They are not Christians and have never been.”
“They don’t know Jesus. They believe that when they eat bread on Sundays, they are eating the body of Jesus. It’s ritual,” he told his stunned congregation.
According to PM News, Okotie said Pope Francis is an Anti-Christ who does the job of the devil and that time is fast approaching when the Catholic church will pledge allegiance to Satan.
“The pope is an Anti-Christ and the Catholic church will soon declare for Satan. This is the end of times,” Okotie erupted.
He advised members of his church to come to the rescue of Catholics and evangelise them. This, he said, was not out of disrespect but out of respect for the word of God.
He said those who know the truth should bring it to those who do not know it in the Catholic Church.
Okotie said one of the Catholic most revered Popes, Pope John Paul 11, surrendered the Catholic Church to Mary, the earthly mother of Jesus Christ, instead of Jesus himself. He said even the current Pope Francis has also done same.
He said Catholics are not Christians and do not worship the same Christ that he preaches in his church, at least the one spoken about in the Bible.
Okotie said he did not write the Bible but it was clear to him that those in the Catholic church were lost and were heading to hell fire.
“That church, the Catholic church has been there for Satan and at the right time, they will declare for Satan,” Okotie said.
Okotie who has been married twice and divorced also twice said a beauty pageant will take place in his church next Sunday to select the most beautiful woman in his church.
He also said that Nigeria’s famous preacher Prophet T.B. Joshua is the son of the devil and his followers will go straight to hell.
But funny enough, in recent years, the same Pastor Okotie has been saying that God has anointed him to be the President of Nigeria. That prophecy has not come to pass in 2 presidential elections that he participated in

WHY I DON’T PRAY TO MARY – BY Will Graham
What a wonderful woman of God. Her faith, her obedience and her whole hearted submission to the will of God never cease to amaze me. Down and throughout the ages few saints have been as sorely tried and tested as she was; and yet through it all, she remained faithful to the God of Israel and to the Son she so problematically bore.
No Bible loving person will fail to be moved by Mary’s God-centred love; but at the same time, no Bible reader could ever fall into the trap of turning Jesus’ mother into a quasi-Saviour like figure to whom we must pray and intercede earnestly (and through whom we have access to the Father). Such thinking is a blatant distortion of New Testament faith. So do I pray to Mary? No, I don’t. Why don’t I pray to her? Let me offer you a bouquet of reasons.
1.- One, I don’t pray to Mary because Mary isn’t God. The Bible makes it crystal clear that prayer is to be directed to God and God alone. The Bible strictly prohibits the deification of any creature in the stead of God. I can’t help thinking how horrified mild Mary would have been had she realized that so many billions of biblically ignorant ‘believers’ would use her name to usurp the authority of the Almighty.
2.- Two, I don’t pray to Mary because there is only one mediator between God and man. Who is that? Let Paul reply in apostolic tone: “The man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5). The early church nowhere taught the doctrine of co-redemptrix. Of course we don’t deny that Mary played a vital part in God’s redemptive economy- after all, she birthed the very Son of God in Bethlehem!- but to say that she is a bridge between us and God is to do away with the exclusivity of salvation in Jesus Christ. Jesus’ blood is the only access a Christian has to the presence of the Father. And only means only!
3.- Three, I don’t pray to Mary because Mary was a sinner just like me. Mary’s joyful testimony gives witness to this awakening truth: “My spirit rejoices in God my Saviour” (Luke 1:47). Mary called God her Saviour because she too needed liberation from sin. Mary was human, all too human. She had felt the cold bite of sin and stood in need of the saving grace of God. Mary was no sin-free saint. She shared our fallen human condition and thus disqualified herself from any potential calls to prayer-answering ministry.
4.- Four, I don’t pray to Mary because Mary doesn’t listen to me. Mary has spent the best part of the last two millennia caught up in the fullness of celestial bliss. Her gaze has been fixed on the triune Godhead and she has been praising His infinite beauty to ecstatic excess ever since she got to glory. The things of this present world matter very little to her now. She is with Jesus. She joins voices with the angelical host to sing anthems of praise unto her King. Mary doesn’t pay attention to our prayers. She doesn’t have a cell phone any more. And at any rate, if she did have one, I very much doubt she’d turn it on.
5.- Five, I don’t pray to Mary because Mary would want me to pray to God. If I truly want to honour a person I love, the best way is to honour someone they love. If you want to make me happy, speak well about my family, my friends and my loved ones. In the same manner, if sister Mary were still with us, she would take supreme delight in knowing that we love God with as much passion as she does. As a truly Spirit-led woman of God, she would tell us to pray to God, to look to God and to trust in God (never in anyone else).
I hope this short list of five observations (and the list is by no means exhaustive) should shun us from ever thinking of kneeling before the mother of God’s only Son. Mary is not be prayed to. Yes, we admire her faith. Yes, we thank God for her ministry. And yes, we marvel at her exemplary life. But Mary is not to be sought in prayer. God is to be sought in prayer. Any prayer that is Mary-directed is foully offensive both in the nostrils of the Almighty God and an affront to the legacy of a quite wonderful woman of God.

SEEK HIS FULLNESS – By Pastor E. A. Adeboye
Memory Verse:Ephesians 3:19:“And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.”
Read: Ephesians 3:16-21.
Ephesians 3:16-21:“That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; Ephesians That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Ephesians. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. Ephesians 3:21”
Message:
Many prayer effort amounts to wanting to give what you don’t have. If you are full of the Spirit, with little or no effort, you will birth signs and wonders. Many people are empty of the Spirit yet they want to birth signs and wonders. They will simply have disappointments. Do you know you can be filled with the fullness of God? (Ephesians 3:19). Why stay, live and minister empty of God when you can have all His fullness?
What is important with God is not how many years you have been born again but how close to Him you are. It is not what title you bear on earth but the title you are known by in Heaven. It is also not what position or ecclesiastical office you occupy but how full you are of His Spirit. If a week old believer is full of the Spirit, God will use him to do the incredible. Most people have misplaced priorities. They are busy struggling for money: in their dreams and thoughts, it is all about how to get money, yet they wonder why they are not seeing miracles through their lives and ministries. Others are busy struggling over positions and title as if these are what will give you the anointing. No! There are many pastors who got to the peak of their anointing on the day of their ordination. After their ordination, they went to sleep. No wonder workers who are not even ordained but are seeking for the fullness of the Spirit are more anointed than them. Stop fighting for what is not! Give your attention to seek more of Him. The more you have of His Spirit, the more like Him you will be in signs, wonders and character.
KEY POINT
- Before you birth the supernatural, you must first conceive by the Holy Spirit.

WATCH FOR THE SIGNS – By Pastor E. A. Adeboye
Memory Verse: James 2:18:“Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.”
Read: Isaiah 46:3-4.
James 2:14-17:“What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”
Message:
Elijah in 1 Kings 18:41-44 brought an end to a situation of famine that had plagued the land for three and a half years. We can learn from the process he went through in order to bring about the manifestation of change in this situation of drought. In addition to hearing God, declaring what He had said and intense prayer, the man of God also added some other action. He asked his servant to keep going back to check the skyline for signs of rain. James 2:14-17 says the faith that fails to be backed up by works is a dead faith. One lesson here underscores the need to be spiritually alert while praying. Why? If you watch and pray and you are spiritually sensitive, you will see the signs in the spiritual skyline that will tell you that your prayer has been answered. Sometimes, such signs may appear quite insignificant or almost unnoticeable, yet, if you are sensitive enough, it will not pass you by. When you watch and pray, you will not pray blind prayers any more. When you pray, do you watch out for signs of answer to your prayer?
On the other hand, there is need for works to give life to your faith. Hebrews 11:6 says God rewards those who diligently seek Him. Do you seek Him diligently? Yes the tide is turning for your good but you’ve got to act and go beyond prayer. If you need a job, you need to write and forward your applications to organisations and follow them up, asking whether they received your applications, the time for tests and interviews etc. As a student, if you want to come out in flying colours, you must study. In 1964, my professor told me you have to go over a given text 10 times if you truly want it to stick in your memory. If you want to reach the top, acquire a skill. Whatever you are doing, be very good at it. If you are a tailor, carpenter or fisherman, be the best in that field. God is looking for diligent, hardworking and skilled people that He will prosper. One of my friends introduced his brother to me as a tailor who just qualified and requested that I patronise him. I gave him some material to sew a pair of trousers and he sewed something else. I told my friend that his brother is a barber and not a tailor. Be diligent from today!
ACTION POINT
- Some signs may be a flash of less than a minute, ask God for grace not to lose divine messages.

DELICATE ASSIGNMENT – By Pastor E. A. Adeboye
Memory Verse: 1 Corinthians 4:15:“For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.”
Read: James 1:13-15.
1 Corinthians 4:14-15:“I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you. For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.”
Message:
Midwives are not only an important set of people but also a powerful group. In Exodus 1 : 15-16, we see that they have the power to kill or keep alive, and Pharaoh instructed them to use that power against newborn male Hebrew children. Midwives can kill or spare a new born baby by their action or inaction. At the point of a woman’s delivery, when she is about to push out the new baby, she is between earth and eternity. Many women never survive their deliveries as they go from childbirth into eternity. Usually, at that moment of delivery, a woman may not have known the sex of her baby, or whether the baby is dead or alive. It is what the midwives finally presents to her that she accepts as the fruit of her labour. Some midwives have used this power to play pranks, sell or exchange babies etc. If you have done so before, repent with all your heart asking for God’s forgiveness and go and restitute to those you have defrauded.
Do you know that these midwives can perpetrate a lot of atrocities? While reading this passage in Exodus 1, it suddenly dawned on me that it is possible that a good number of children said to be stillborn were actually murdered by the midwives. I have seen babies that were born with a dislocated hand because the midwife pulled the baby a little too hard. In the same vein, you are a divine midwife as a saved worker or minister of God. You can kill a new convert ever before he or she finds his or her feet, through your words or actions. This power at your disposal must be used to grow and establish converts in the faith of Jesus Christ. By your actions, you can help God to deliver babies into God’s Kingdom and by your actions, you can cause the newly saved to backslide. But for the grace of God, I would have gone back to the world because of the negative actions of some so called believers. Where do you stand today? Are you birthing or killing babies? How are you living your Christian life today?
KEY POINT
- Some spiritual midwives help to take delivery of some souls and later kill them. Are you one of them?

OBEYING WITHOUT QUESTIONING – By Pastor E. A. Adeboye
Memory Verse:Jeremiah 7:23:“But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.”
Read: 1 Kings 17:1-5.
1 Kings 17:1-5:“And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LordGod of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word. And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there. So he went and did according unto the word of the Lord: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.”
Message:
God is a good and wonderful God but He is not a democrat. Democracy has its benefits but in God’s Kingdom, it has several limitations, hence God adopts a theocratic style of government. If you would be God’s favourite, you must learn to obey Him unquestionably. In 1 Kings 17:1-16, after Elijah announced the seizure of rain, God told him to go to Brook Cherith and that birds will feed him there. He went without asking any questions. If God tells you to go and preach at a particular location you hate to go, would you pretend as if it was the devil that spoke to you? Or would you ask: ‘Father, why me, why not somebody else?’ When the water at Brook Cherith dried up, and God said, ‘Go and meet the widow’, he did not question but simply obeyed.
Some people have become so learned, enlightened and refined to the point that they query God. They summon God to explain why He wants them to do what He asked them to, or else, they will not obey. If you taste what it means to be a divine favourite for one month, you will do almost anything just to remain His favourite.
Moreover, anyone who wants to be God’s favourite must be ready to spend quality time with Him. A couple who after marriage hardly spend time together, will after several years not be able to show the fruit of their union. The fruit of the Spirit is developed as you spend time in God’s presence, right in the midst of contrary circumstances. So also are the gifts of the Holy Spirit. If you want to heal the sick or raise the dead, first go and stay in His presence. There is hardly anyone who walked in the miraculous by the power of the Holy Spirit without being incubated by the Holy Spirit. Do you really want to be His favourite? Even if you are not presently His favourite, you can work your way into being one by the things you do from today. As you pay the price, the Lord will make you His favourite.
KEY POINT
- Obeying without questioning is the height of trust, while questioning before obedience is the height of mistrust.

Open Heavens Daily Devotional Thursday 5th September 2013 “COMMUNION DESTROYS YOKES” – Pastor E. A. Adeboye
Memory Verse: Isaiah 14:5:
“The LORD hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers.”
Bible Read: Exodus 12:30-36.
Exodus 12:30-36: “And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead. And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the Lord, as ye have said. Also take your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and bless me also. And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We be all dead men. And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneadingtroughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders. And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: And the Lord gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians.”
Message:
The importance of the Holy Communion can never be over emphasised. In Exodus 12:30-35, when the Israelites took a similitude of that uncommon meal, it brought about multiple effects. They had lived under a curse and suddenly after that meal, the curse was broken and they became a blessing. How? After asking them to go, Pharaoh asked them to bless him also. Are you presently operating under a curse? As you key into the next Holy Communion service, the curse will be broken. Even the people who placed you under that evil spell will come and beg you, and ask you to bless them. Oh how unlimited is the power that is released from the table of the Lord!
Similarly, until that night, they were at the other end of labour. They worked like elephants but took the harvest of ants. Yet, even their pay hardly came. Some people have experienced this at one time too many. It appears there is no value for their services. People are happy to patronise them yet when it comes to paying for such services, they will begin to give all the excuses in the world. Some people will work with all their hearts and sacrifice a lot for an organisation, yet, when it comes to receiving their salaries or wages, the directors will reel out a list of reasons why such employees should be owed. You do not have to continue like that. You can change that situation by taking the Holy Communion meal. There are even fraudulent organisations and bosses who refuse to pay their workers with the excuse that there is no money, yet they are releasing new cars, dedicating new houses and breaking new grounds. The Holy Communion can put an end to such wickedness. However, you have to make up your mind to change that situation or else it will continue. The children of Israel before the meal lived in fear and were treated like animals, or at best as inferior citizens. This season, break the staff of the wicked over your life by prayerfully partaking in the next Holy Communion.
PRAYER POINT:
- Every yoke of wickedness upon my life, Father destroy it today and set me free.

GET INTIMATE WITH GOD
By Pastor E. A. Adeboye
MEMORISE: How sweet as thy words unto my taste! Yea, sweeter than honey to
my mouth! Psalm 119 :
103
“While we look not
at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the
things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4 : 18
Worldly things
are temporary while heavenly things are eternal. In other words, earthly things
like wealth, material possessions, earthly achievements and goals, position and fame are
all for earth and therefore short lived. One day, they shall all cease. On the
other hand, spiritual things like things about God and His Kingdom, serving God
at whatever capacity, doing God's will and spiritual goals are heaven- bound
and have eternal consequences. The average believer is torn between focusing on
the physical and the spiritual. Where is your focus
today?
Your focus will
be determined by your level of spiritual maturity. The joy of growing old in
the Lord is that it opens your eye to seeing more of the unseen than what is
commonly seen. More intimacy with God gives you sharper spiritual vision and a
keeper spiritual audio ability. One of the ways God speaks is through the still
small voice according to 1 King 19 : 11
-13. To be able to hear Him by
this very low voice, you must completely down play noise and seek him in
absolute quietness. This may require you finding a very quite place for God and
you, and He will speak to you. When you deliberately draw closer to God, you
will hunger and pant after His word. You will go beyond reading to studying and
digesting God’s sweet Word (Psalm 119
:103).
Moreover, how can you prolong your days on earth? This
is a function of what you do and what you don’t do. Stop cheating on others! Deuteronomy 25 : 15 says
“But thou shalt
have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have:
that thy days may be lengthened in the land which the LORD thy God giveth
thee.”
If you are into
manufacturing, and make a product on whose packet you write 10 grams, let it
not be less than what you declared. It is your duty to ensure that whatever you
use for measurement is right. Do not employ false measure. Some traders would
beat in their measuring cans, tins and containers so that they can save
something for themselves every time they sell their goods. A true believer in
Christ cannot do this because he or she fears God. How
honest are you in your dealings?
BIBLE IN A YEAR: Psalm 103 – 105

and be more like you.

SOW TOWARDS YOUR NEXT LEVEL
By Pastor E. A. Adeboye
MEMORISE: Blessed are ye that sow beside all waters, that send forth
thither the feet of the ox and the ass. Isaiah 32 : 20
BIBLE READING: Isaiah 32 : 15 – 20
Everyone has a next level. As successful as you
may consider yourself to be, there is a level you have not attained, a height
you have not climbed, a feat that has not been achieved. No matter how anointed
you are, there is a level of anointing you have not reached. The earlier you
realize and accept this, the better for you. Many people like Moses saw their
next level but could not enter in. May you never be a victim of seeing but not possessing your
blessing in Jesus name.
To enter your next level, you must be prepared
to sacrifice your Isaac. The next level comes by sacrifice. How much are you
willing to give to enter into your next level? Similarly, you can enter
into your next level by sowing. In Genesis 26 : 2 -14, we see how
Isaac entered into his next level through sowing the seed he had at a
period of famine. There are seeds and there are fruits.
Seeds are meant to be sown while fruits are meant to be eaten. Seeds are
for the future while fruits are for today. If you are wise like Isaac, you will
never convert the seed that should give you a tomorrow into a fruit that should
sustain you for the moment. Isaac virtually starved when he sowed what others
should have eaten. He suffered a while but when the yield came, he became
greater than the nation which ate their seeds. Those who sow their seeds will always be
greater than those who eat their seeds. In The Redeemed Christian
Church of God, there is a track record of meaningful sowing. It is the sowing
of the past that has brought us to our present location. In Port Harcourt, a
woman sowed three of her houses and landed property. Sometimes, some people
would empty their pockets for the work of the Lord. I have had to sow my car
too. What are you
willing to give to move to your next level? If what you are prepared
to sow is far from what God expects you to sow, your seed will be unable to
deliver your next level.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalm 100 -102
KEY POINT: No matter how high you have gone, there is still a height you
have not reached.

LOSING YOUR BEARING?
By Pastor E. A. Adeboye
MEMORISE: Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your
own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you,
except ye be reprobates? 2 Corinthians 13 : 5
“Either make the
tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit
corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.”
Matthew 12 : 23
Any one in
autthority that lacks the fear of God is of great danger to the populace. Going
by the above scripture, we have an obligation to such persons – be they in the
church or in the secular world – to lead them to Christ. There are some of us
who have those in authority as friends, relations, spouses, etc. Ensure you
pray and lead them to Christ because, as you make a tree good, the fruit will
also become good.
You may not believe
this but i discovered a long time ago that it is possible to become a General Overseer or District Overseer without
even knowing Christ. I once preached in a church on what it means to be
born-again, after which I made an altar call. The pastor approached the altar
followed by everyone else. Surprised, I said, “Sir, this is not an altar call
for transfer of the anointing or power”. He replied, “Now that you have
explained what it is to be born – again, I have realized the need to return to
the altar”. Thank God for people who are honest who are ready to amend their
ways when they realize they have missed it. Even today, many ministers will
need to pay a visit to the Cross of Calvary, because this is an era of holiness. How can you be holy if you are not born-again? Some
people gave their lives to Christ but presently, they have withdrawn their
commitment to Him. Are you still saved? To lie is
the easiest sin for some ministers and their wives but they have forgotten that
just one lie is enough to drown a soul in eternal hell. One lie a couple told in Acts 5, led to their untimely death. If you
are a bonafide minister of God, your mouth will feel very heavy if you want to
tell a little lie. But if you say it with nothing pricking you, it shows your
heart is already hardening. Run to the Cross and begin again. Some people think
they are still running the race but they have lost their bearing.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalm 97 – 99
PRAYER POINT: Father, in any way I have lost my bearing, in your mercy,
bring me back to the right path.
